Phillies hot, Birds not

What a bittersweet Sunday it was. The joy surrounding the Phillies clinching the division and their first playoff appearance in 14 years was followed by the Eagles' worst performance of a dismal season.

The Phillies, led clearly by should-be MVP Jimmy Rollins, Took the division crown following a tremendous final 17 games of the year. That finish was proceeded by a Mets loss, giving the fightin' Phils their first division crown since 1993.

The Eagles, on the other hand, have proven that they are just plain awful. Putting the season in perspective, last week's points explosion against the Lions was just a fluke. The defense is old, and the offense has no rhythm. Without an offensive line enhancement, the team has no prayer.

Go Phils! Hopefully they can send Jamie Moyer to another Phillies victory parade. (Fact: He skipped school to attend the 1980 celebration.)
